Congratulations on purchasing the NEVER-available-to-the-public Nissan Silvia S14 Nismo decal/livery kit!
A couple comments before getting started:
- The kit is designed to be sectional. This will enable you to apply it easier than if it was one long pin stripe.
- If you have any questions, PLEASE reach out.
- Remember...Have patience or use a professional installer if it's too difficult.
- Kit is worked from front of car back - DO NOT start at the rear.
- Kit is designed to run right below the OEM body line.
- Each section is oversized intentionally to allow for enough of a lip to wrap the body breaks (between door/fender and door/quarter)
Tools needed:
- Cleaning alcohol
- Paper towel
- Water with a very light soap additive, baby shampoo is best
- Sharp razor blade -- we suggest a new blade to keep the lines crisp
- Soft squeegee or spare credit card with a few layers of masking/painters tape to protect the kit.
Step 1: Clean your car and wipe it down with a lightly moistened isopropyl-alcohol paper towel where the kit will lay. A clean car is a clean install.
Step 2: Identify the LEFT side vs. the RIGHT side of the stripes. Each side has 4 stripe pieces; fender, door pre-door handle, door post-door handle, rear quarter.
Step 3: Wet the body with the water + light soap mixture.
Step 4: We found it easiest to start with the front fender - The front fender vinyl rides the wheel arch body line, it's about an inch from the actual wheel arch lip.
Step 5: Gently work the air out from center-up and center-down - NEVER work it from left to right, you will risk stretching the vinyl.
Step 6: Remove the applicator masking tape after each section is installed and cut the overage, carefully with the blade with enough to wrap on the body breaks.
Step 7: Move onto the other panels following steps 4 & 5.
Step 8: Step back, take a photo and tag @clarks_auto on instagram to be shared!
